As to interpretation etc. I agree that the fundamental message is still clear : "Hey ! You lot ! Play nice !" would seem to sum it up. Sadly, in this and other faiths many who 'interpret' seek justification rather than enlightenment.

Sounds a little patronising, frankly. To 'turn someone/something around' usually carries the sense of changing it from bad to good. So, for example, one might take over a failing business and 'turn it around' so that it is now profitable.
