The Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, AZ. has been doing some experimental procedures on migraines. I know of an individual who had an electrode attached to her cranium and when ever she felt a migraine coming on, she sent electrical impulses to the electrode. Can't tell you if the procedure was successful or not. If interested, contact the Mayo Clinic.

In the U.S., a very remote area is called the boondocks or boonies. There is even a country song called "Down in the Boondocks".
