Why are they putting it on TV, is this the tradition?
Yes it is, all the royal weddings have been televised, at least since WW2.
The Brits are hoping for a days holiday to mark the occasion, any excuse for a day off.
It would be nice for Kate to have a ring of her own, Dianas ring was ok at the time, but it is a bit old fashioned now, if gems can be old fashioned.

Lady Penelope, I would love to being paid for doing nothing, as long as, the company don't block some websites :D
We didn't have access to any outside websites. I worked for a bank and they thought it was safer incase a virus got into any of the in-house systems. There was a room that staff could go to in their lunch breaks and use the computers there, but it was always full.

Wercozy, my hair is also fine and doesn't seem to keep in place. I find scrunchies slide off and it looks even worse. I went to a good hairdresser and had it cut into a bob, the best thing I have done to it in years, it looks thicker and healthyer, when I am working about or cooking I use a headband to keep it off my face.

Oh boy, I would just love to have had time to play and do web searches when I worked in an office, it was nose to the grindstone from 9am to 5pm, but we did get a full 1 hour lunch break. Otherwise it was considered as being paid for doing nothing.
If you can get away with it, good luck to you. :-)

Yes, I've heard of it. It has been well documented in some areas of history.
