That's exactly what I was looking for and Google confirms it. Thanks so much A.B.!

You're quite welcome. I added an explanation. I work as a receptionist, and have tried to refine my telephone skills, as some callers can be confrontational and some confused, even.

You've made a mistake to tell this to me. I might often disturb you for such matters. =P

That seems like a natural flow of speech, but it won't be applicable every time.

However, more and more alternatives will be appreciated. Angel Thanks

Hi guys!

When someone asks for our executive diretor on the phone, I cannot put the caller through to his extension without asking why s/he called or on what subject s/he would like to talk to our executive director.
So I want to learn how I can ask the reason as polite as possible.

Please help me!

Sorry if I've caused trouble. What is interesting is that my own personal computer seems to have no virus. (I tried searching with so many antivirus programs so many times and so often!)
I have no idea why this happens. Anyway, if you say so, I'll delete all my posts and leave the thread myself.

"başka bir çözünürlük" =)) really funny!
In Turkish we use the word "kacinci" (monesko)for all the questions that are answered as "1st, 2nd 345th etc."
Students try to apply Turkish grammar to English and ask challenging questions all the time! =)
