Topic: How to talk about past experiences?
Posted: Sunday, May 2, 2021 4:30:04 AM
Hi
Let's say that I have 3 previous jobs, 2 of them is finished and the third is my current job. How to tell somebody about that?
Using just Past Simple, like:

I worked with company1 then I worked with company2, and Now, I work with company3.

or using Past Perfect, like:

I had been working for company1 before I worked with company2.

Or what to say?

Thanks

Topic: I'm struggling with Present Perfect Tense
Posted: Saturday, March 6, 2021 5:32:45 PM
Hi
In this short story about Robin Hood:

As a wanted man, he may have gone into hiding
in the deepest part of the forest. There he might have been joined
by sympathetic supporters.

Why the writer uses present perfect instead of simple past? Is it because 'As a wanted man' in the beginning?
Also, why he uses 'Have gone' and 'have been' instead of Has?
Thanks.

Hi
In this sentence, why they used present perfect continuous(if I'm correct) instead of present perfect?

Lady Gaga's French bulldogs have been found safe and unharmed.
and what if I said :

Lady Gaga's French bulldogs have found safe and unharmed.

or both sentences are present perfect but the first in passive voice?

Thanks

Hi
What is the meaning of 'shy' in this sentence:
The top of the range of motion is just shy of locked arms so as to keep tension on the pectoral fibers. When performing reps, the arm should be just shy of a 90-degree angle when the arm is bent.
Thank you.

I don't know how to say it...
But if we take the lyrics:

For forty days and forty nights
The law was on her side
But who can stand when she's in demand
Her schemes and plans

Does that mean 'forty days she lies and even the law believes her, but after that...'
The story of Moses leaves their people for forty days, and their people doing bad things until Moses came back!!
