Such things have certainly been looked at. Of course toxic metals are generally... toxic, but I'm not aware of any study that shows any significance in Alzheimer's. As I say, the exact cause of Alzheimer's is still not known.
The most significant factors are age and genes, which you can't do much about. At the risk of sounding flippant, the best thing you can do in the meantime is enjoy a happy and healthy life for as long as fate allows. :-)
