Welcome Priest to the forum.

Although the pronunciation of the two terms are similar, there is difference in meaning.

Whose means "of who"? It refers to the belonging.
While Who's is the contraction of "who is".

Who's is the man standing behind you? means Who is the man standing behind you?
And,
Whose book is this? means This book belongs to who? or Of whom is this book?

Hope it is clear.

nominative the man who is walking, who's walking
vocative who goes there? who's there?
accusative the man whom I killed who's been killed (who has been killed) who've you killed? (who have you killed?)
genitive the man whose life I took the life belonging to the man
dative to whom did you give the knife
ablative from whom did you steal it

sorry its so bloodthirsty, very Freudian.
