This word has to be used very carefully. Calling someone with their caste name is considered offensive sometimes. So it's better to avoid.

This "Hollyhock" spells "Aoi" is for scholars to conclude. Despite being a pariah with kukoro no yami...darkness of the heart, they know neither who pluck the flowers, nor who weave them as a crown about your brow.

1610s, from Portuguese paria or directly from Tamil paraiyar, plural of paraiyan "drummer" (at festivals, the hereditary duty of members of the largest of the lower castes of southern India), from parai "large festival drum." "Especially numerous at Madras, where its members supplied most of the domestics in European service" [OED]. Applied by Hindus and Europeans to any members of low Hindu castes and even to outcastes. Extended meaning "social outcast" is first attested 1819.

The nuns’ journey from pariah status to a papal welcome and photo opportunity lasted three years and was conducted behind closed doors.

A pariah is someone that has been soundly rejected by their community. Your constant gossiping might make you a pariah on campus.

Pariah takes its name from a tribe in Southeast India. The pariahs were drummers, sorcerers, and servants who became untouchables in Indian society because of the unsanitary jobs they did. Pariah maintains this sense of untouchableness. Pariahs are not just unliked, they are avoided at all costs. Imagine how a once popular restaurant could gain pariah status if it fails health inspections three times in a row.

The world is still so backward-minded that the majority still treat anti-military/anti-war people of

progressive mindfulness as pariahs. The puppeteers still keep the cowardly cave dwellers in submission by

threats or monetary promises... so most of cave dwellers are mercenaries of the puppeteers... Plato has tried to open

the eyes of the cave dwellers to the truth, but their addictions (that make them submissive) administered by the

military is debilitating, cowardly, pitiful, degrading,... The military treat even the most brilliant minds such as

Albert Einstein, Mileva Einstein, Bertrand Russell, Heinz Norden, Otto Nathan, Desmond Tutu, all the conscientious

objectors that are in jails right now or outside jails, and other progressive people of great mindfulness... as

pariahs.

I have often come across the word in biological/zoological contexts, by the way.
