Well it must be a romantic scene, when someone felt himself/herself compelled to do so as heart desired, it's great dialogue but now a days people are listening to their mind aaahhhh i think such behavior will get labelled as hopeless romanticism.

"Our Lord! Let not our hearts deviate after You have guided us, and grant us mercy from You. Truly, You are the Bestower." (Quran; Surah Al-'Imran (The Family of Imran 3:8).

"Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me." (Bible; Psalms 51:10)

"Those in whose hearts God reverberates unceasingly are indeed blessed
And deeply loved as one who is the Self." (Katha upanishad)

This quote is from "ANTIGONE" Sophocles (c.496 B.C.–406 B.C.). LIne 1424 The messenger speaking:

"And then the boy, with fierce, wild gleaming eyes,
Glared at him, spat upon his face, and draws, 1412
Still answering naught, the sharp two-edged sword.
Missing his aim (his father from the blow
Turning aside), in anger with himself,
The poor ill-doomed one, even as he was, 1416
Fell on his sword, and drove it through his breast,
Full half its length, and clasping, yet alive,
The maiden’s arm, still soft, he there breathes out
In broken gasps, upon her fair white cheek, 1420
A rain of blood. And so at last they lie,
Dead bridegroom with dead bride, and he has gained
His marriage rites in Hades’ darksome home,
And left to all men witness terrible, 1424
That man’s worst ill is stubbornness of heart. [Exit EURYDICE.

Chor. What dost thou make of this? She turns again,"

Stubbornness, inflexibility, intransigence, whether from the heart or any other source, have been and still are responsible for man's worst mistakes

Stubbornness and ignorance and determination are a very fine line from each other. I'm a very stubborn person, but not so stubborn that I can't learn new things and meet new people, but I have a one-track mind.

It gives me great pleasure indeed to see the stubbornness of an incorrigible nonconformist warmly acclaimed.

If people ask me for the ingredients of success, I say one is talent, two is stubbornness or determination, and third is sheer luck. You have to have two out of the three. Any two will probably do.

Is this stubbornness of heart relate to Antigone, Haemon or Creon himself?

The resistance to admit the mistakes even when found guilty do show the stubbornness is found in most men

In my mind, Sophocles is clearly talking about being stubborn when it comes to admitting one’s own errors. He is not talking about stubborn in the sense of “stick-to-it-iveness,” which is often a good thing.

And he’s right.

The intelligentsia of the Western world is so ignorantly arrogant and stubborn that the vast majority of them can’t admit that the private cartel of people who own and control the money creation corporate fronts literally exert tremendous control over society and are systematically bankrupting the people on planet Earth.

And that, right there, is why Earth will be bankrupted through the Trojan Horse of debt-money fraud.

Einstein isn't talking about someone obviously wrong being stubborn about changing.

Sophocles is talking about people who refuse to see what is obviously right before their eyes.

It is known who the nonconformists are. Those who have weapons think they are the only ones to be right.
Read Einstein on Peace, and will meet some of the greatest minds/nonconformists on this planet.

This is true! ... but they are not nonconformists.... they are the stubborn greedy evil calling themselves "power" Whistle

The quotes are so profound Shamshad Afridi. Thank you. May Allah bless you.

There is no religion without love, and people may talk as much as they like about their religion, but if it does not teach them to be good and kind to man and beast, it is all a sham.
Anna Sewell (1820-1878)
