Russia's Czar Paul I Assassinated

After his mother, Catherine the Great, suffered a stroke, Paul I ascended to the throne. The new czar instituted a number of reforms that angered the nobility and provoked a conspiracy against him. What a bizarre mother son relationship between him & his mother, Catherine the Great.
Quote:
Some claim that his mother Catherine hated him, and was restrained from putting him to death.

Quote:
Paul was often jealous of the favors she would shower upon her lovers. In one instance the empress gave to one of her court favourites fifty-thousand rubles on her birthday, while Paul received a cheap watch.[4]

Quote:
Emperor Paul also ordered the bones of Grigory Potemkin, one of his mother's lovers, dug out of their grave and scattered.[10]

What a life! Anxious

What messed up people! Just like a child said about an alcoholic she loves: "He is a messed-up man."

Some groups were against the new politic position this Czar ( Emperor Paul I), thus he was slain by conspiration. Perhaps, it had been by envious or corruption I think.
