Very true facts have been doubted at first but believed later as the earth being round was designated as false

Yes, Mr. Descartes. Once we pick such first precept, we tend to act consistently with our choice. Why is that adaptive? Should that be truth? All my life I have been curious wanting answers, some good some bad. Now I am taking the liberty to say that it makes us easier to interpret by our likely interactants without a single doubt because that enables complex coordination and cooperation...

The main thing is that you should explore the things rather standing on one's opinion.

But that usually means standing on some one else's opinion. And how can you know that that some one else is reliable? There are many things we cannot know about, but have to believe by faith that they are true. For instance, how does a child know who his or her father is? The child only has her or his mother's word for it. He or she cannot possibly know, but believes only by faith. In life we must all do likewise on so many occasions.

Quote from: "DISCOURSE ON METHOD AND MEDITATIONS ON FIRST PHILOSOPHY"

MEDITATIONS ON FIRST PHILOSOPHY IN WHICH THE EXISTENCE OF GOD AND THE DISTINCTION BETWEEN THE SOUL AND THE BODY ARE DEMONSTRATED

MEDITATION ONE: Concerning Those Things That Can Be Called into Doubt

(Descartes invites us to think skeptically. He entices us with familiar occasions of error, such as how the size of a distant tower can be mistaken. Next, an even more profound reflection on how dreams and reality are indistinguishable provides suitable justification to abandon all that he previously perceived as being truth. (18, 19) By discarding all familiarity and assumptions, Descartes hopes to eliminate all possible errors in locating new foundations of knowledge.) -http://www.echeat.com/free-essay/The-Second-Meditation-I-Think-Therefore-I-Am-27867.aspx

The Discourse on the Method is a philosophical and autobiographical treatise published by René Descartes in 1637. Its full name is Discourse on the Method of Rightly Conducting One's Reason and of Seeking Truth in the Sciences (French title: Discours de la méthode pour bien conduire sa raison, et chercher la vérité dans les sciences). The Discourse on The Method is best known as the source of the famous quotation "Je pense, donc je suis" ("I think, therefore I am"), which occurs in Part IV of the work. (The similar statement in Latin, Cogito ergo sum, is found in Part I, §7 of Principles of Philosophy.)

If you would be a real seeker after truth, it is necessary that at least once in your life you doubt, as far as possible, all things.

I believe Arthur Conan Doyle concurs: "There is nothing more deceptive than an obvious fact." Doubt increases with knowledge.
