The pen is the tongue of the mind; the more so if you are a food writer.

Penning ideas, thoughts, reflections, brainwaves, figments of the imagination is a great privilege and it is also a very powerful tool, the pen has been described as being mightier than the sword

This quote is from "Don Quixote. V 16"

And in spanish is :

La pluma es la lengua del alma.

Mistranslation! ALMA in Spanish means SOUL (http://www.thefreedictionary.com/soul)

MIND (http://www.thefreedictionary.com/mind ) in Spanish is MENTE

The correct translation must be :

THE PEN IS THE TONGUE OF THE SOUL!!!

Applause Great quote!

... only a slower tongue that can refine the expression before other's see it whereas in spoken language, we cannot easily change what comes out of out mouth, but we can refine much better to avoid ambiguity what comes out of our pen.

I can't really "correct" a great master but I think the tongue is the pen of the mind, and the pen is the tongue of history. But I suppose the translation was wrong. I like "the pen is the tongue of the soul". I couldn't tell you why I find that more acceptable. Have you ever really tried to express your true feelings and emotions to someone and been unable until you sit down to put them on paper. I think that's it for me.
