There is no religion without love, and people may talk as much as they like about their religion, but if it does not teach them to be good and kind to man and beast, it is all a sham.

All the religions were made to keep ourselves checked upon our doings....whether our actions were right or wrong not to fight upon it

It's perfect when personal wish can magically match the movement of this world even if only for a moment… Let it be, Anna.

Love may be compared to a ghost since it is something we talk about but have never seen.
~ Schopenhauer

From his point of view... it is not all a sham. Rather than belittling the beauty of Love and religion, it is an unconscious defence of a very great truth. Love can only be compared with Love. There is nothing else to compare it with. No one has seen Love, because no one has seen God.

I have a great love and respect for religion, great love and respect for atheism. What I hate is agnosticism, people who do not choose.

We have enough religion to make us hate, but not enough to make us love one another.

Religion and love are two different things. Religion usually teaches fears - if one does not believe the superior one, one will be condemned to a place named hell.

Quote from : "Black Beauty" The Autobiography of a Horse by Anna Sewell

PART 1, CHAPTER 13: THE DEVIL'S TRADE MARK (John Manly, Page 45)

"Your master never taught you a truer thing," said John; "there is no religion without love, and people may talk as much as they like about their religion, but if it does not teach them to be good and kind to man and beast it is all a sham—all a sham, James, and it won't stand when things come to be turned inside out."

Through this quote from John, Sewell expresses her views of religion and belief. As this book is about encouraging kindness towards animals, she emphasizes kindness and goodness and she warns against people who talk about religion and yet do not practice. This motif of religion being a force of good, separate from the shortcomings of its adherents, continues through the story.

Where there is smoke, there is fire! Jealousy usually happens when the other makes some moves to provoke it!

All religions are a sham when it comes to really, really caring! It's just a notion full of political connections, and hierarchy.

With everyting that is going on today with the Islamic religion in question, I find this quote very relevant. Our president, Mr. Obama states that Muslims have a rich history of peace and brotherhood, but the more I research their religion, I find that women are treated as slaves, children are sold or given away as child brides and people are put to death for speeking against the Islamic religion.

I am NOT talking about ISIS other terrorist groups, these things are going on today in Muslim countries around the world.

Terrible things have happened in the name of religion throughout history, but the only one that is STILL commenting these type of barbaric atrocities against women, children and others, is the Islamic religion.

Great Quote

This is so very true and this thought has tempered my inability to except the destruction Christian right that denies help to the poor or medical support to unwed mothers, nor can I tolerate those Christian bigots that are apposed to the marriage of gays.

This may be true, since religion can be used as a uniting force when a nation goes to war, distinguishing one's country from its enemy. But I know of no wars that started over love, in the sense that one loves one's neighbor.(I don't think the Greek/Trojan war was an exception -- Helen was more a prize than one who was loved).
