Beaumont Siblings Disappear without a Trace

The Beaumont children's disappearance from an Australian beach launched what would become one of the largest police investigations in Australian criminal history. On a hot summer day in 1966, nine-year-old Jane Beaumont took her two younger siblings to a nearby beach, but they never returned home. Police investigations revealed that the children had been seen with a strange man and later walking alone, but the case was never solved. This happened before I was born, in another state, yet I heard about this a lot while I was growing up. This unsolved mystery truly sent shockwaves throughout Australia.

That's quite terrifying, and probably the highest reason anyone doesn't let their kids meander on their own. I imagine it must've been shocking to go from carefree to stringent parenting. I've never known the carefree way so it's alarming that we let kids take the bus and go someplace public without us.

Very sad and depressing read. I wonder if there were DNA samples taken from the parents so if, by chance skeletal remains are someday discovered, an identification could be made.

When they are small, we can still protect them! When one neglects that duty, it is extremely sad!

Could any parent say that they have done or that they are doing enough to protect their children from all possible dangers this day and age? Definitely not
