Friends are an aid to the young, to guard them from error; to the elderly, to attend to their wants and to supplement their failing power of action; to those in the prime of life, to assist them to noble deeds.

Friends are the aid for life as their contribution does lead us to a newer version of ourselves.....

Ties of friendship: for better, for worse, for richer, for
poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part… Isn't it great, darling?

Scrutinize and double check your "friends". You will find you have very few, in any.

GOOD OBSERVATIONS BY ARISTOTLE.
HERE'S A QUOTE FROM JESUS :
John 15
13"Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.
14"You are My friends if you do what I command you.…"

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC)

If you got a friend who can aid to you, guard you form error, you are so lucky when you were young. If you got a friend when you old enough that this friend can accompanied with you until you pass away, how lucky you are in your whole life.

I like the quote from Jesus Christ. I also think the friend may not be the same person throughout one's life. Someimes friends in primary school loose touch with each other, or the friends may die. What we all need is one or more friends in our whole life who, as the bible says, "sticketh closer than a brother", or sister.

Rather than expecting your friends to be unconditional to you, be yourself a true friend. Your positive atitude and dedication will bring about true acknowledgement.
Be a good husband, be a good wife, be a good parent, be a good son or daughter, be a good friend. This could prevent us from having much avoidable trouble in life.

Friends are those, who understand you very well when you have a lot money, and those you understand them very well when you lost your money.

I doubt that Aristotle could have said it better.

I have to agree with Dr WWWW comment:
