Study: HIV Becoming Less Deadly

HIV is evolving into a less infectious and deadly form, according to a study by the University of Oxford. When HIV infects an individual with an immune system better equipped to battle the virus, it may become less effective at replicating. This weaker version of the virus may then be passed on. The findings, published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, demonstrate evidence of this process occurring in Africa by comparing versions of the virus in Botswana and South Africa. Researchers warn that even less infectious forms of HIV could still cause AIDS. More...

HIV just like alcohol, sex, and drug addiction has gained "anonymous status." They all want to be anonymous, and behind the veil of anonymity do horribly immoral things. In communities all over America there is HIV epidemic for which sexual addicts blame monkeys, but not their own sexual addiction/ incontinence and porno pollution.

They are all diseases, and should not be anonymous, but would be more effectively dealt with if treated publicly.

Finally there is some good news but if the religious right had their way they would have let everyone die as this was "a sinful homosexual sickness and therefore all that got it should die".

Very well said Millica.

Frederick-Frank still Flaming today on another thread. People who truly love God do Not want to see Anyone suffer.

The fact that he hates all who are of faith means he most likely does not Know one person of faith.....so he would not know people of faith are Not hateful like Him.

Its wonderful the science is getting so much better for this hideous disease. It is scary that it is mutating into different levels in such an insidious way. Science has come a long way for so many cancers and HIV as well, unfortunately there is still much more needed.

I'm going to disagree with Milica and TBT on this one. AIDS has no link to morality. It's a virus. And with all due respect there is no North American epidemic. AIDS is, in fact, relatively uncommon compared to other lethal diseases.

And Milica, alcoholism and drug addiction are not moral issues. They are personal issues. I drink, but I am not immoral. Every now and then I get to have sex, also not immoral.

Judge not, lest ye too be judged. We all have to make judgements on people every day, but there's no need to scream immorality at those with whose lifestyles you disagree.

It is for the Lord to judge, not you. Pride is also a sin.
