Yeah, but pains, hurts could be bought all alone without any chic add-ons and therefore come much cheaper... Next, please!

Sounds somewhat masochistic.

You are masochist if you buy pains, hurts and you are sadist if - sell it. Just like in a passionate love affair or so it seems.

There's a price to be paid for pleasure, either at our own or other people's expense.

Quite true. An illustrative example : Peace bought with freedom is no peace at all.

Count Leopold von Sacher-Masoch was a man who knew how to take it lying down.

Read the fable!!The Flies and the Honey-PotA NUMBER of Flies were attracted to a jar of honey which had been overturned in a housekeeper's room, and placing their feet in it, ate greedily. Their feet, however, became so smeared with the honey that they could not use their wings, nor release themselves, and were suffocated. Just as they were expiring, they exclaimed, "O foolish creatures that we are, for the sake of a little pleasure we have destroyed ourselves." Pleasure bought with pains, hurts.http://news.genius.com/Aesop-the-flies-and-the-honey-pot-annotated

The duality of things. You can not separate good from the bad really. Those twin will live together forever.

We live in a fairy tale culture where pain is always seen as negative. A mature normal person understand that certain growing pains are natural and good. Pain can help spiritual growth too. Too much pleasure can bring on pains from hell... Look at Nietzsche who went through pain to be with a sexually licentious woman, and then he got the greatest hurt of all - syphilis that caused his insanity and short life span.
