Arboretums

An arboretum is a botanical garden primarily devoted to trees and other woody plants that are cultivated for scientific, educational, and ornamental purposes. The plants are labeled with their common and scientific names, and they are arranged in cultural or habitat groups, such as tropical, desert, and aquatic. One of the world's oldest arboretums is the Trsteno Arboretum, near Dubrovnik in Croatia. What arboretum in England helped inspire the design for New York City's Central Park? More...

The arboreta on my college campus used to be a pot-smoker's haven...until the police discovered it as such.

The Trsteno Arboretum is one of the oldest arboretums on Earth. It was erected by the local noble family Gozze in the 15th Century, who requested ship captains to bring back seeds and plants from their travels. The exact start date for the arboretum is unknown, but it was already in existence by 1492 as an aquaduct was erected for the arboretum that same year.

Filming is underway on location at the Trsteno Arboretum in Croatia for the upcoming fourth season of 'Game of Thrones.' The massive HBO production has amassed its award-winning team of designers to build mammoth sets for epic scenes that fans cannot wait to see brought to life. The media was invited to the Trsteno Arboretum yesterday and we've got some of the behind-the-scenes shots of all the on-set action!

Such a beautiful time of the year, tis inspired many of my works of art & still inspires me to this day....New works and a good feeling of the time to change and prepare... When living in NYC, the "park" was always a special place, as well as the apple orchards of Rockland County.

Both arboretums and arboreta are valid plural forms of arboretum. :)
