The MGM Grand Hotel

One of the largest hotels on Earth, the MGM Grand opened in Las Vegas, Nevada, in 1993. It had a very different look then than it does today, originally boasting an extensive Wizard of Oz theme that has since been scrapped in favor of an Art Deco motif. The complex also included a theme park, which was meant to make the Vegas Strip more family friendly, but it performed poorly and was closed in 2000. Why did many Chinese patrons avoid the MGM Grand's main entrance prior to its redesign? More...

Feng Shui in gaming entertainment:

Chinese people have a strong superstitious belief especially, in gambling, they have many taboos and rules during the gambling, for example, cannot buy book before since the pronunciation of book is similar to “lose” in Chinese.
No doubt to say, operating the gaming entertainment should pay more attention on Feng Shui, such as architecture design of the outlook and the geographic location of the site.

Not only in Chinese, western design is also concerning about FengShui, such as MGM in Las Vegas. There is a Lion in front of the entrance, named as Leo the Lion. Indeed, many Chinese gamblers avoid going through this main entrance while in feng shui belief that entering the mouth of the lion was “bad luck”

Lisboa Hotel in Macau and MGM in Las Vegas as examples, Lisboa Hotel is designed with homing birds into cages. People describe this casino can trap gamblers and their money inside the cage and the top part of the front entrance is seen as a bat whic aimed at sucking up all the money from people’s pockets.
