introspection, humility, respect, exploration, striving for goals, adversity, acceptance, grace, so many other things...Leonard Nimoy is a man I dearly wish I could have met.

I ask the same question of the next poster:

It's hard to pick one...

Here are the people thanks to whom I've learned a lot in a way or another:

- Jean-Pierre Petit
- Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
- Richard Buckminster Fuller
- Steve Jobs
- Werner Heisenberg
- Yuri Gagarin
- Frank Herbert
- Natalie Dessay
- ...

I choose Yuri Gagarin and Natalie Dessay:

David Lynch's 'Dune' movie (1984 C.E.), adaptation of the 1st volume of Frank Herbert's Cycle of Dune.

I've never considered that movie a "failure", even though a majority of "objective" viewers have brought it down since its release.
I used to the be a big fan of Herbert's work and especially of his Cycle of Dune.

Here is VY Canis Majoris...not necessarily my favorite but only because I really don't know any specifics of various stars... :)

- I can't resist to post another photo of the hypergiant red star named VY Canis Majoris:

- I like cosmology, astronomy but I actually don't really care about the night sky and its celestial objects. I have a little attraction to Orion constellation though. Basically, most of the astronomical photos are photons that came from a distant past to the astrophotographer's retina. So I don't really feel the need to stargaze or photograph.

- Daphnia:

Ohhhhhh!!! The daphnia is GORGEOUS!!! And you know, the very fact that when we look out into the night sky, we are looking back through millenia--it staggers me to a reverent silence as meaning tries to take form. Thus, my request for something tiny...we are such insignificant motes of nothingness in the grand scheme of it all! :)

And now, I'd like to introduce you to my new buddy, aka Mr. Indestructible, or more formally as Tardigrade

This tiny fella (up to 0.5mm) can live for 30 years without food! They can also endure temperature extremes of up to 150 degrees celsius, the deep sea and the frozen vacuum of space. WOW!! Personally, I would just like to get him a pat! :)

Looking at those amazing little claws, I would like to see something with magnificent claws, but it can't be an obvious choice!

That looks like a very skilled medium's consulting room indeed ^^ ^

Le Château de Puymartin (Dordogne, France).

That castle is haunted by Thérèse de Saint-Clar. She got imprisoned by her husband, after he discovered then killed her extramarital lover. She lived imprisoned in a small room for 15 years. Then her corpse promptly got walled. Her ghost hangs around in that castle every night around midnight. Several people confirm she is extremely touchy and unpredictable.

(by the way, the cheese soufflé looks wonderful!)

Nice castle!! And I have had more than one ghostly encounter so I don't doubt that the castle is indeed haunted!

You bring up a fun challenge--my husband and I often stop shows to look at a glaring error in set dressing! In this case, I had no idea kilts weren't around at the time of Braveheart, lol...

Show me something that really blew you away and left you stunned and amazed!
