Five Is Good, But Seven May Be BetterCurrent dietary guidelines recommend that people consume a minimum of five servings of fruits and vegetables a day, but researchers say that number should be upped to seven. A study of more than 65,000 men and women shows that the risk of premature death decreases with increased fruit and vegetable consumption. Interestingly, fresh vegetables appear to provide the greatest benefit, followed by salad and then fruit. Canned fruit, meanwhile, actually appears to increase the risk of death, perhaps because it is packed in sugary syrup. More...

I think this one kicked off as an April Fool's post. While we're at it, most people die in bed so we should all take poppers and graze all day.

It is shocking how many people do NOT eat vegetables every day.
In my case, I do not eat enough fruit every day.
I hear that some developing nations are now seeing a rise in diseases since their newly affluent people can now afford to buy Western-style food (sugary concoctions, hamburgers, etc.).

If you eat 7 fruits and vegetables (carbohydrates) there will not be space to put your daily necessity of proteins and fats (lipids) to maintain nutritional balance.........

" Saying" and " supplying" are two different things.

I have noticed that if I eat a salad with at least seven different fresh vegetables with vinegar and oil that I mix myself daily my appetite for junk just disappears. I put raisins and walnuts on the top and slice with a potato peeler fresh cloves of garlic. Maybe it is the fresh garlic that curbs the sweet tooth and junk desire. Best tip: don't have junk food in the house.
