Rupert Murdoch (1931)

Australian-American publishing magnate Rupert Murdoch established News Corporation as a holding company, but it has since developed into a worldwide communications empire. Included among the many assets of Murdoch's News Corporation are powerful media holdings in Australia and New Zealand; the prestigious Times of London and other British papers; and the New York Post, TV Guide, and HarperCollins book publishers in the US. Happy Birthday, Mr. Murdoch!

You are truly the newspaperman's newspaperman.

Thanks to you for saving the British newspaper industry by putting those print unions in their place! (Just think of it: those cheeky printers had the temerity to censor the newspapers that they were paid to print!)

I am sorry, however, that you changed The Times to tabloid size. It has lost much of its mystique that way.

My Los Angeles Times is looking for a buyer. Won't you please consider buying it? I know that you would make it an interesting read.

In July 2011 it emerged that Cameron met key executives of Murdoch's News Corporation 26 times during the 14 months that Cameron had served as Prime Minister.[64] It was also reported that Murdoch had given Cameron a personal guarantee that there would be no risk attached to hiring Andy Coulson, the former editor of News of the World, as the Conservative Party's communication director in 2007.[65] This was in spite of Coulson having resigned as editor over phone hacking by a reporter. Cameron chose to take Murdoch's advice, despite warnings from Nick Clegg, Lord Ashdown and The Guardian.[66] Coulson resigned his post in 2011 and was later arrested and questioned on allegations of further criminal activity at The News of the World, specifically the News International phone hacking scandal.[citation needed]

One scary guy...power of the press and that he does have..FOX (oh dear god), newspapers everywhere, studios, things in the sky,

hacking and ageing with six children, four of whom can take any direction. Having the edit button which he has had since

grammar school make for control of what we read and see. The only thing I want to see a photo of the Devine Mr. M. in his

early years while "traveling in New Zealand with pals in a rented Morris Minor." Yeah gadsBoo hoo! Boo hoo! Boo hoo!

Thank you, too, Mr. Murdoch, for FOX NEWS.

It is the only major media outlet that comes even close to giving us the politically incorrect news.

Most media outlets are terrified of angering certain groups.

Why we honour this piece of human waste's birthday is beyond me I confess.
