situate (v.)
early 15c., "to place in a particular state or condition," from Medieval Latin situatus, past participle of situare "to place, locate," from Latin situs "a place, position" (see site). Related: Situated; situating.

home (n.)
Old English ham "dwelling, house, estate, village," from Proto-Germanic *haimaz (cf. Old Frisian hem "home, village," Old Norse heimr "residence, world," heima "home," Danish hjem, Middle Dutch heem, German heim "home," Gothic haims "village"), from PIE root *tkei- "to settle, dwell, be home" (cf. Sanskrit kseti "abides, dwells," Armenian shen "inhabited," Greek kome, Lithuanian kaimas "village;" Old Church Slavonic semija "domestic servants").

I must admit that link seems a bit of a stretch! Whistle

I remember the days when we were in high school, this man was always well situated, getting vast amounts from his flamboyant family.

There's also "to get situated," meaning to get yourself collected / sorted / ready / squared-away.

The funny thing is that you can't very well be "unsituated." You're always situated somewhere; the only question is whether you're situated well, or poorly.

In retrospect we were well situated, cashing in on what was thought to be a long shot.
