P.S. some of these words I know quite well, i just put them on my personal list for the sheer fun of it. Some of the words I know but would like to know better, like pyrrhic the word for a Greek war dance, naked i hope.

P.P.S I hate it when ppl misuse the word interpolate; it makes me want to interpolate their heads.

You can add words to your word list on TFD by pushing the "add current page to the list" link on the right hand side of a definition page.

Look up a word up on TFD and try it out.

tyronic adj. exhibiting inexperience
probity n. integrity and uprightness; honesty.
estimable adj. 1. worthy of esteem; deserving respect or admiration. 2. capable of being estimated.
manque adj. having failed, missed, or fallen short, esp. because of circumstances or a defect of character; unsuccessful; unfulfilled or frustrated (usually used postpositively).
noumenon n. in the philosophy of Kant, an object as it is in itself independent of the mind, as opposed to phenomenon. Also called thing-in-itself.
double entendre a word or phrase used in a manner that it can be interpreted in two ways, especially when one of the meanings is risque. (included here just because I don't see it as much as I should)
incommode verb tr. to inconvenience
axenic adj. Free from contamination
breastsummer n. a horizontal beam supporting a wall over a large opening, such as a shop window.
ides n. the 15th day of March, May, July, or October, and the 13th day of the other months (this word must no longer be important)
dentigerous adj. having teeth.
welkin n. the sky or heaven
rasorial adj. given to scratching the ground to look for food
deuteragonist n. the second most important part in a play. (awesome stuff)

ataraxia n. a state of freedom from disturbance of mind
verbigeration n. obsessive repetition of meaningless words and phrases
brachylogy n. conciseness of diction or an instance of such
cunnilingus n. oral stimulation of the clitoris or vulva
testaceous adj. 1. having a shell 2. having the reddish brown color of bricks or baked clay
titivate v. to make decorative additions to; to spruce up
ostiary n. a doorkeeper, especially in a church.
vomitorium (plural: vomitoria) n. a passageway to the rows of seats in a theater. (someone on this forum misused this word)
turdiform adj. like a thrush (a songbird) (a classic word for any list)
albedo n. 1. the fraction of light reflected from a body or surface. e. g. earth's is around 0.39. 2. the white, spongy inner lining of citrus fruit rind.
caesious adj. bluish or grayish green.
anemious adj. growing in windy conditions.
annelidous adj. of or relating to worms
de novo adverb Anew; from the beginning
