Welcome to the forum, christina100015. The easiest and quickest way would probably be to come here and learn it in the country. Not everybody can do that, however. In India the Goethe Institut offers German lessons in many places, or you can try another of their offers, distance learning. You'll find more information on their website. Viel Glück und viel Spass.

Hello Christina, when I was looking around on the Internet for French forums I found a French portal http://www.francaisfacile.com/,a portal for beginners and also for more advanced learners. This portal has sections for other languages too, for German you have to click on the German flag in the top line. But as it is French-German I don't know whether this will help you much. If you google for Deutsch für Anfänger you will find a lot of portals. Another elegant method is working with an electronic dictionary, in your case it should have a dictionary German-Indian or German/English. Reading simple stories and working with an electronic dictionary simplifies the dictionary work enormously as looking up a word is very quick. And you can save all new words in a mobile phone.

From ' Tobermory' by Saki : Tobermory had been Appin’s one successful pupil, and he was destined to have no successor. A few weeks later an elephant in the Dresden Zoological Garden, which had shown no previous signs of irritability, broke loose and killed an Englishman who had apparently been teasing it. The victim’s name was variously reported in the papers as Oppin and Eppelin, but his front name was faithfully rendered Cornelius. “If he was trying German irregular verbs on the poor beast,” said Clovis, “he deserved all he got.”

Hi excaelis, you may be right as to German irregular verb forms, not to speak of the horror of knowing whether it's der or die or das. But when it comes to the system of word formation the German vocabulary is a lot simpler than in English or French.

That would be the German ' find a word that already exists and keep adding words until you get the word that describes what you want ' system ?

Your best partner to learn new things is google. Try to learn at least the new 20 words daily. As it improves your grammar.
