There is an inconsistency, Broad > Board. According to the rules of this game, only one letter may be changed during a given turn. This may have lead us to an incorrect word for the subsequent words thereafter. Although it is just a game, one which I have enjoyed, I would deem it necessary to explain this slight misunderstanding and ask that we all take just one turn at a time, as we alter each word, one letter at a time.

With much respect,

Spahkee

P.S.

In the spirit of fair play...

Yikes! Here's a modest proposal

Two false steps were taken in the current path:
brook ---> brood
brood ---> broad
broad -X-> board
board ---> beard
beard -X-> bread
bread ---> breed
breed ... broom

Why don't we just excise those two steps and the one in between them, and make a move from
broad --> bread
then the rest of the additions will be legal and eventually our chain will be accepted in the Guinness Book of Records?

I agree with the reasoning behind the "one step per person per move" rule, but am concerned that it could stand in the way of another brilliant series like Tito's CHARMing SNAIL move. I defer to Risa as the ultimate authority in this matter.

I too show ultimate deference, as this is not my game.

Bread > Tread

Double Yikes!! OK, but then we have a long path from bread to broom we'd have to abandon. Perhaps another recapitulation (if this gets annoying, I'll stop, really I will!)

I agree that we should accept a "one change per turn" rule. I'll add it to the list of rules on the lead post.

With that, we're moving forward from:

BROOM
