Finally. We are moving in the right direction - a direction in which Government is seen as the beginning and the end for each of us. It has taken hundreds of years for this country to finally realize that it is not about the individual, but is all about the collective. Larger, more powerful government is the answer. The Democrat party alluded to this transition, but did not take it head on. That will come later.
Let us stand and cheer our collective acceptance - and allegiance.

As an aside, it is also refreshing to see that the Democrat Party platform has removed any reference to GOD or to Israel. Neither offer significant importance to the overwhelming need that we have to move to that next level.

lol for parody?

Edit: ooh "red star," never made that connection. A communist friend of mine thinks having very little personal freedom is a very low price to pay for living in Cuba; I disagree.

Yes, RedStar, I too am looking forward to the opportunity to belong to our wonderful government.

But I also await, with trembling limbs, to the day that we all look to our beloved dear leader just like our brethren do in countries all around the world. What joy there will be in our hearts when we are allowed entrance into the presence of our great and glorious leader to hear his wise and wonderful words for us; to lighten our hearts and loosen our loads that we are all happy and eager to carry for the great one that leads and loves us.

Yes, RedStar, mayhaps we will be besides one another as we march forward into a brave new future; imagine the glory!Anxious

You want internationalism, Red Star, but you don't know that you can't have that without nationalism. You want the collective, but you don't realise that you can't have that apart from individuals. Individuals will never belong to the government. The government belongs to the individual.

OooOh!

Yes, I understand the frame of mind this type of political thinking employs Redstar. But I subscribe to the theory that subtlety, has no place in government, at least not in a Democracy.

The problem with such tactics that are less than straight forward, not exactly facts, not exactly truthful or otherwise flawed opinion presented as facts is that a misinformed voting population is THE worst occurrence a Democratic Society can face.

When it comes to issues such as health care and social security, it is about the individual.

It is about protecting the individuals rights and ensuring that individuals cannot be put some place "out of mind" and forgotten.

It is a crying shame that Republican party representatives are allowing Goliath business entities to systematically dismantle the individual's safety net and only provide for those whom they can profit from.

The problem is that even with privatizing health care, there is still the expenditures that come from tax revenue, it's just that it is paid to finance those companies (insurance, pharmaceutical, and medical diagnostic companies) so that they can make a killing.

The alternative to having government funded health care and social security systems, is to give OUR tax money to large corporations who only view individuals as human beings when they can make a profit. The People have absolutely no say in how their money gets used, and those corporations take zero responsibility for our much needed systems after they cause a collapse of the industry.

If astronomical amounts of The People's money goes to finance an industry, they should be able to have at least some say in the matter, AKA their vote which decides who to elect to devise the industry's policies.

If Romney and Ryan want to privatize Health Care and Social Security so that The People are at the mercy of a corporation, they can do it with their money. It seems funny that the same Republicans who want to privatize programs paid for by the tax payers, have their extremely generous health care policies paid for by the same tax payers.
