They are the good Samaritans that find us robbed of all our dreams by the roadside of life, bleeding and weeping and desolate; and such is their skill and wealth and goodness of heart, that they not only heal up our wounds, but restore to us the lost property of our dreams.

What lovely thoughts expressed by Richard le Gallienne. If everyone set out in life to be of help to the next person what a wonderful world it would be.

Just imagine the whole world being linked with people holding hands, no barriers or colour, creed, class, political doctrine, everyone agreeing to be a good Samaritan.

There are not many people like this--mostly, I think, because, we are all caught up in the whirl-wind of turmoil, difficulty and worry of our own lives; and other people's lives are but a blur in our awareness. And, we think that by greedy, aggressive behavior, we can somehow alleviate the pressure in our own. And if by some fluke, our consciousness opens--and some flux in the hidden, buried spring of our hearts flows free, and another person's life comes into focus, and, by some miracle, we play an act of kindness forward by extending ourselves to another human being in some small way, we feel it to be such a heavy drain on the reservoirs of our being.

John Lennon's Imagine captures the spirit:

Today's quotation continues the dream theme from yesterday's quotation from Conrad's Lord Jim. From one dream to another...

One of the saddest aspects of humanity is that it doesn't even take behaving like the altruistic Good Samaritan. It doesn't even even take well behaved people or even "civil" behavior and the world would be the real utopian-like home that it could be.

All it would take is a step towards honesty. Which for human beings, does not mean never lying but rather promptly admitting it when you do.

There are regular every day human beings that can "hear" your thoughts. Everyone's brain, the human being's brain is set-up for it, it really is pointless to lie. It is foolish to believe the lies that those who came before us failed to recognize.

Start of by being honest with yourself, and honest to your loved ones. Don't make the mistake of confusing temporary emotions with the ones that are more permanent (be understanding when your loved ones are honest with you) Don't use truth as a weapon. You do NOT have to conform to all the traditional beliefs of the past. Practicing this honesty when make life easier and you relationship with your loved ones far more intimate then ever before.

You are OK, who You are is not wrong, forget what others have forced you to believe about yourself. That is their shortcomings. Be understanding and honest and the world will become Heaven.

If you do not start to practice this honesty (which is not all that easy to do) the transition into realizing that lying is pointless, because we are "see through" (you will learn to hear others thoughts)

and if you do not realize what it going on, it will drive you nuts. Keep company with people who care about your well being, as it is not going to be understood by many people, and it will not be easy to handle.

Do NOT give manipulators the time of day, unless you know how to ignore them if people are messing with you.

if you teach your children nothing else, teach them that who they are is OK, and teach them the skills they need to know themselves. It is impossible to be honest with others, if you do not know yourself.

Good Luck

it's going to be OK
