In most public events, the Ladies' Room has a longer line than the Gentleman's. My understanding in my area is that if there is a line for the Ladies' but not one for the Gents' then the girls are allowed to use the unoccupied toilets even if there are menfolk doing their own business right "next door" as it were. (For those occasional Men's bathrooms that still have doors on the stalls....)

What is etiquette where you live? What SHOULD it be?

No talking. Wait your turn in line. Eyes straight. In. Out. On with life.

Ladies first, even in a men's bathroom.
A gentleman can do his consignment outdoors.

Contrary to popular rumour about old dogs and new tricks...

I'm looking for a real woman.

I have recently learned, to my disgust, that double toilet pans are now commonly installed in ladies' toilets in such places as restaurants. This facility (excuse the pun) allows the best friends to continue their gossip while they widdle. rluna has it right.

Stupid men! We are entitled to waffle when we waddle to our widdle and waffle while we widdle without men's waffle that make us widdle while we waddle to our widdle!

Around here if the lady's line is longer than the men's,they turn one of the men's into a lady's with temporary signs. NOT co-ed!! And at most sporting events it is the men's line that is longer!

We cross our legs and wait our turn, cursing under our breath. Or go look for another facility. Or time it better. Or .....

Most places now have larger restrooms, except maybe at the older theatres.

Where does the idea that women waste time talking come from? The only talking going on is the complaining about there not being larger facilities.

That seems the sane arrangement Mailady.

While on the subject:

1. Put the cell-phone away when you are pinching one off in a stall. That isn't a direct line to the Kremlin, and you aren't the President...it can wait!!!

2. Wash yer dang hands! I wish I had a dollar for every time I hear someone leave a stall while I'm doing my business...no sound of water running, no sound of the towel dispensor...just the sound of the door closing. Din't mama teach ye' nothin'?

Research at Dodger Stadium showed that women spend nine times longer in the bathroom than men. Physician, heal thyself.

A friend of mine (while was alive) used to wash his hands BEFORE - to dipose of germs picked up from railings, etc. while in a public place. It was not necessaery AFTER, because he had left the house with a clean "whistle".

At my workplace there is a garbage bin right next to the door. I've noticed that about 60% of people ( myself included ) open the door on the way out with paper towel on their hands, discarding it in a fluid motion into the bin.
