Hello,

About the phrase 'none the wiser'.

Does 'the wiser' in the phrase have anything to do with 'the wiser' in the following sentence?

The wiser you are, the happier you are. (self-made)

Thank you.

I am not sure what you are asking. Meaning or structure?

It is another meaning of wise - to know.

If you are none the wiser it means you don't find out the truth about something that happened.

It is not wisdom, sagacity. It is just information.

Or you still don't understand something that is confusing. Comprehension, not wisdom.

It is an idiom

You can use 'the' + any comparative adjective in your structure.

You can only use 'none the wiser' as that particular idiom.

Quote:
Cambridge Dictionary

none the wiser
(also not be any the wiser)

to not understand something:
I read the computer manual, but I’m still none the wiser.

To be none the wiser also means to not be aware of something:
The health department gave the restaurant a warning, but the customers were none the wiser.

_______________

The phrase "none the wiser" means "not having any more understanding or knowledge about something than you had before". Your knowledge or understanding about something should normally increase after some input, explanation etc. If it does not happen, you are none the wiser! The comparative degree "wiser" compares your state before the input with your state after the input, explanation gained by you.
