At least, at the very last, at the last, or at very last.
Which ones are correct?

Harry and Hermione has entered the hall
Quote:
People looked around at them as they passed along the back of the Hall..

Does it mean "they are walking towards the back" or walking "at the back area"?

Dumbledore is taking about Dementors.
Quote:
They are stationed at every entrance to the grounds.

Why not "the every entrance" as there are probably certain entrances to the school?

After the feast was finished.
Quote:
At long last, when the last morsels of pumpkin tart had melted from the golden platters, Dumbledore gave the word..

Melt "FROM"???

Moving along the back area, usually used to mean moving along the wall.

We would not say "the every entrance". Saying "every" entrance means exactly that. Using "the" would indicate a specific entrance, so that can't be used for all of them.

If it had said, "had been taken from the golden platters", would it be more clear? Melted just describes how they were removed.

They are no longer on the golden platters. They have been removed/taken/are gone.
