Hi,

Are the following sentences interchangeable? If not, what is the difference?

After doing the dishes, Sam still has five items on his to-do list.

After doing the dishes, Sam has five more items on his to-do list.

I'd appreciate your help.

They're basically the same, and can be interchangeable. The use of "still" adds just a bit, and conveys the idea of those things waiting to be done. Without "still", it is simply a statement of fact.
