In Zack Snyder's Justice League.
There's a dialogue.

[Alfred] So the draft stands at naught for two? Maybe a man who broods in a cave for a living isn't cut out to be a recruiter.

1) the draft stands...for two
What does it mean?

2) Does brood means think here?

Here Batman is trying to persuade other superpowered individuals to join him in a team to fight against a new enemy. He has made 2 attempts to persuade people to join him both have failed. He has had 0 successes for 2 attempts, naught for two.

9.
a. The process or method of selecting one or more individuals from a group, as for a service or duty: a candidate who did not pursue the nomination, but accepted a draft by the party convention.

To brood here is similar to the word sulk, to sit in the batcave and worry about his failures.

Thank you
What does "stand" mean?
If he did manage to recruit one, Could he say " The Draft stands at one for two"?

And what does it mean here?
Is "at" redundant here?

Stands at

Ie that is its position, that is the current situation.
The preposition is essential because the number is not the object of the verb,'to stand".
