My son is learning to write sentences using conjunctions.
He loves watching IPL(Indian Premier League) cricket tournament.
He wrote the following:
CSK ( Chennai Super Kings) is the best team in IPL because they've won 3 titles but this year they have lost too many games.
Is it grammatically correct?

In American English it’s correct, they use singular pronouns to refer to sports teams like is.
However in British English we use “are” treating teams as a plural.
So for your son, if he is learning what to write in school in Leeds use the following.
“CSK (Chennai SupermKings) are the best team in the IPL ....)

Thanks a lot!
Has he used "but" and "because" correctly?
In year 3, they are learning to use coordinating conjunctions correctly.
Has he used the tenses correctly?
Does it sound natural for his age?
What about punctuation?

In year 3, they are learning to use coordinating conjunctions correctly. ("But" is a coordinating conjunction; "because" is a subordinating conjunction.)
Has he used the tenses correctly? Yes.
Does it sound natural for his age? Yes, I think so.
What about punctuation? I would put a comma after "titles", because it would be spoken with a pause there.
