With Ukraine Trump cancelled Pence's trip, withheld $400 M in military aid, and a Zelensky visit to US had a condition. Sounds like a banana republic asking foreign countries to remove opponents. Or even blackmail pretending to be negotiation?

But I guess Turkey held all the cards, oops, hotels. US troops have been moved so Turkey can kill the Kurds, who after all were just dispensable US allies fighting against ISIS. Then US troops - made into mercenaries - are to be or have been sent to protect the Saudis where Trump has financial interests. A Kurd being interviewed said they had helped to defeat DAESH and ISIS and Trump is "not a human being". And other Kurds and Americans have said worse.

So now Turkish forces have fired on a declared U.S. military outpost in northern Syria. Turkey knows all US locations down to the precise grid coordinate as confirmed by SECDEF and CJCS only two hours ago. This was not a mistake.

ISIS militants have broken out of prison in Syria after the bombing.

"JUST IN from MarthaRaddatz: ISIS has breached several prisons in northern Syria. Official says Turkey is deliberately targeting American bases so we will depart." ABC

Indeed, Romany. Your and Lotje's quotes are so apropos.

Only ten years, but the last three seem like forever - THIS WEEK IN HISTORY: 10 years ago, former Pres. Barack Obama won the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize for what the Norwegian Nobel Committee called "his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples."

The slaughter is sickening. Imagine the Kurds having to turn to Russia for help while Trump plays golf. Senior US military officials, US military who have worked with the Kurds, and SOME US veterans are livid. One veteran tweeted they will be remembering this in 2020.

Cannot verify but read the US earlier made the Kurds destroy the tunnels and escapes they had made in case of attacks by Turks. Anybody know if this is true?

Commander of Kurdish forces in Syria to US official:

"I need to know if you are capable of protecting my people, stopping these bombs falling on us or not... If not, I need to make a deal with Russia and regime now & invite their planes to protect this region”

We need to put it in terms little donny can understand...

...or as the theme song from Baretta used to say "Don't do the crime if you can't do the time."

Oscar,

There's a video that goes on for several minutes on Twitter (can't copy or find elsewhere) with a list of Bill Taylor's impressive service to his country. The poster expects Trump to attack Bill Taylor and wants Taylor's background out there first.

FounDit with his quote implies Trump is a "true genius". You would think a true genius would be able to cover up his corruption, but Trump has always done it right out in the open. The only "genius" part of Trump is his ability to get his supporters to believe his lies and overlook his corruption and incompetence.

In other Trump news:

In a matter of days, Trump has:
- Weakened America’s standing in the world
- Bolstered Assad's brutal regime
- Strengthened Russia
- Let ISIS fighters escape
- Watched as an ally shelled U.S. troops
- Withdrawal of US troops by Trump caused another ally, the Kurds, to be slaughtered

None of those outcomes puts America first or makes America great.

So why? Personal financial or political gain? Other?

While some might view my reply as mere flippancy, I believe there's a very real possibility that little donny has done these things intentionally for the benefit of Putin and has only made it appear as haphazard fumbling.

The Government Accountability Office (GAO) has determined that little donny broke the law by withholding aid to Ukraine.
