The test of inducement is not a heavy one, and I am content to say that I do not see that in the light of the judge's clear-eyed acceptance of at any rate this aspect of /Mr. Bennett's/ evidence it is easy for this court to take a different line.

I'd like to add "judicious".

The problem with "clear-eyed"--and I confess I've never used the expression--is deciding exactly what we mean by it, since both perspicuous and perspicacious have the same Latin root, namely to see clearly or thoroughly (L. per: through; spicere: see).
The usage of "perspicuous" seems to revolve around expressing in lucid terms what one actually perceives clearly, so any example sentence would need to emphasize this.
On the other hand, "perspicacious" goes beyond the lucid expression to reflect a mature/wise understanding of what one sees. I always link "perspicacious" to "sagacious" or wise; hence the mention of "judgment" or "discernment" in the various available definitions.
This brings us back to the "usage" example, which is ambiguous since it could be referring to either "perspicuous" or "perspicacious." In short, it needs more context to link the example to the intended definition.
Perhaps something along the lines of--"John's clear-eyed assessment of the company's problems and his wise discernment of their implications saved it from bankruptcy."
