I always assumed this was straight from the French - but apparently it is a bit more of a mashup than that.

I love learning new words by looking at their graphic, picture, or any figure that can lit up my imagination on that word.
I strongly believe that vocabulary is a subjective and figurative process. We don't remember words we remember concepts.
