Hadrian doesn't usually get enough credit for the innovative technology he used to build the wall

I promise, Ma, it will be fine.
The fort has underfloor heating. And the outposts are in 'sheltered locations with stunning views'.








It actually wasn't so much a defensive wall as a boundary marker and statement of identity- a lot of trade went on across the wall.
