Was the "authorization" sufficient or, the position on which Napoleon Bonaparte relied, a nullity?
If insufficient, and a nullity, was it competent to the Pope to plead this nullity, or, in the language of the French jurisprudence "opposer la fin de non recevoir" to this action?
Usually, a sword is not used in the sacristy.
