I have allergic rhinitis. Does my mucus contain viruses? In other words, is my cold contagious or infectious?
Thanks.

No more than anybody else's unless you have a cold or infection of some kind. Your body produces histamine in an allergic reaction so you probably have a lot of histamine in it.
I see you called it a "cold". Allergic rhinitis is not a cold. Your body's immune system is overreacting to a harmless substance thinking it is harmful and the mucus is a result of your body trying to protect you.

llergic rhinitis, like other allergic reactions, is not contagious. However, the symptoms of allergic rhinitis can be confused with those of a common cold, which can be spread from person to person.
