There must be a limit to the mistakes one person can make, and when I get to the end of them, then I'll be through with them. That's a very comforting thought.

Err is human,a comfortable thought at many situation and getting to the end of our mistakes can be made only if we could understand how we commit them. If we become besieged by mistakes, it is difficult to decipher the mistakes. It becomes uncomfortable to face such situations.

I like this as a philosophy of life.

Of course the challenge then is to always make that one more mistake, and one more....

Is death a mistake?

Was birth a mistake?

Is this post a mistake?

The quotation is from the novel, Anne of Green Gables, Ch. " A New Departure in Flavorings:"

"Marilla, isn't it nice to think that tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it yet?"
"I'll warrant you'll make plenty in it," said Marilla. "I never saw your beat for making mistakes, Anne."
"Yes, and well I know it," admitted Anne mournfully. "But have you ever noticed one encouraging thing about me, Marilla? I never make the same mistake twice."
"I don't know as that's much benefit when you're always making new ones."
"Oh, don't you see, Marilla? There must be a limit to the mistakes one person can make, and when I get to the end of them, then I'll be through with them. That's a very comforting thought."
"Well, you'd better go and give that cake to the pigs," said Marilla. "It isn't fit for any human to eat, not even Jerry Boute."

So,it's all about Anne's optimistic philosophy which, I understand, has been endlessly parodied by the Canadians.

I love Anne's philosophy about making mistakes and therefore Lucy Maud Montgomery's. We all beat ourselves up unnecessarily for the mistakes we make. Anne's mistakes are what made her so endearing to so many.

If life on this earth is finite then there must be a limit to the mistakes we make--
I think death takes care of it for us.

Just watched the first episode of Anne of Green Gables yesterday, again.

It is one of my favourite movies and I love to sit and read the collection of books as well.

peace out, >^,,^<

Happiness consists of good health and bad memory. The sooner you forget your mistakes the better.

making mistakes belongs to being human.
no one is flawless, and besides, making mistakes is the best way to learn: try and error.

Of course you should try not to make the same mistake twice ;-)
