US President George W. Bush Introduces the "Axis of Evil" (2002)

During his 2002 State of the Union Address, US President George W. Bush described the countries of Iran, Iraq, and North Korea as an "Axis of Evil" for their alleged support of terrorism. Since then, the phrase has spawned many imitations, including the Eritrean-coined "Axis of Belligerence," the South American "Axis of Good," and the "Axis of Diesel" proposed by The Economist magazine. The Axis of Evil.
- It was a coined expression by former President Bush's speechwriter used on the State of Union Adress of 2002 under the context of the recently happened World Trade Center Terrorist Attacks.
- The expression is a reference to President Roosevelt's speech in State of Union Adress of 1941 when the Japanese Surprise Attack on Pearl Harbor just had happened a few months before.
- The comparison between the two times has a great deal of disagreement amidst the specialists. On the one hand, it is impossible to compare the military coordination that took place before by Nazi Germany, Japan, and Italy, by their engagement on military treaties and the state of affairs regards the alleged Evil Nations that was embraced by the Bush's expression. On the other hand, the lack of military coordination of these nations hasn't been impeding them to work on escalating the terror across the planet in a very coordinated fashion at all.

Other Expressions Related
- Axis of Belligerence
- Colonialist Axis
- Axis of Good
- Axis for Environmental Evil

Neither of these regimes would have ever existed without active Soviet/Russian support. Nothing personal, just stating a medico-scientific fact.
