Also called "habit spasms," tics are involuntary, compulsive, rapid, repetitive movements like blinking and shoulder shrugging or vocalizations that include grunts, barks, and other utterances. Their expression may be somewhat controlled, but much like an itch that must be scratched, sufferers ultimately feel impelled to go through with them. Stress has been known to exacerbate tics. "Often when I am in a library I am hearing some people are deliberately using their mobile kelp phones to play ringtones". Said Patric Star, after digesting the newest edition of "Bikini Bottom Review" in hard cover.
"What do you do in a library, Patric?", asked Squidward Tentacles.
"I am trying to sleep but strange mobile kelp phones are playing old ringtones. I know that the mobile kelp phones are 10 years old because mummy gave me one 10 years ago."
