^^ What a wonderful, playful sculpture!^^

One of my favorite things to do is to stroll through a quality gallery. This art game allows me to peruse the internet for lovely artwork and in the process, I find wonderful artists that take my breath away.

This is a stunning piece by Megan Duncanson...isn't she amazing?! :)

A famous poem by Aaro Hellaakoski, Hauen laulu, has been immortalized in front of Musiikkitalo in Helsinki.

Concetta Antico, world-renowned tetrachromatic artist

Tetrachromacy is the condition of possessing four independent channels for conveying color information, or possessing four types of cone cell in the eye. Organisms with tetrachromacy are called tetrachromats.

In tetrachromatic organisms, the sensory color space is four-dimensional, meaning that matching the sensory effect of arbitrarily chosen spectra of light within their visible spectrum requires mixtures of at least four primary colors.

Tetrachromacy is demonstrated among several species of bird, fish, amphibian, reptile, insect, and some mammals. It was the normal condition of most mammals in the past; a genetic change made the majority of species of this class eventually lose two of their four cones.

^^ Oh WOW!! That's so cool!! And of course it makes complete sense that I am a tetrachromat too. (With my husband's keen eye for color too, he will be one as well.) I would wager a high percentage of graphic designers and painters are, as we are drawn to color. We enjoy color sorting games and are extremely good at them, even when they get very hard. I'm delighted to understand why I have such a good eye for subtle color differences! It may also be a reason people appreciate my photography so much...that's awesome!

Here's a lovely piece by another artist that I like:
