Did I ever tell you about the time that we pulled over to the side of the road next to an almond grove?
I tried one fresh off the tree. There's no almond quite like it.

Wild strawberries (Fragaria vesca) or woodland strawberries - one of my ever favourites, they taste best when hand picked during a hike.

Apparently, they also come in white. I've never tasted mulberries.

Never tried mullberries, too. They do look interesting, I can't even guess how they can taste like.

Pomegranate - I like to scatter the seeds over some salads.

Today is the Cranberry Day Festival on Martha's Vineyard & Cape Cod.
I look forward to this because I like to make my own cranberry sauce.
I usually get two bags so that I can make one batch for the Thanksgiving Day feast, and have one batch for myself.

I never tried mulberries either DM,I think they only grow wild in California

Sounds great Alice:) they are very cheap in Quebec since Quebec is the biggest grower of cranberries in North America

True, and in the shape of yummy looking ice cream! :)

Speaking about healthy benefits of the fabulous fruit... :D Blueberries are the source of a number of disease-fighting antioxidants, and are really good for the eyes.

Blueberry smoothie (with or without coconut, depending on preferences :)

&

Maple and blueberry ice cream (I couldn't resist, sorry ... :D)
