hi,

I don't know what "apparel" means in some using such as "apparel company" or "apparel sector"! Please kindly explain to me.

Apparel is another word for clothing. Thus, an apparel company would be a company that makes clothing. As far as apparel sector goes, I haven't heard this term used before so perhaps someone else could clarify that.

We have a quiz programme on Radio which gives apparel points to the winners.The winners get 300 , 400 etc apparel points spend them on buying only clothes.

I have never used or heard apparel being used for undergarments. So be careful. It only refers to the outer garments. If someone is working in a lingerie export house, its not a apparel company.

As a word apparel is also used in nautical field. It means any gear or equipment on the vessel. AS found in TFD. Bye.

An 'apparel sector' is a designation for a part or component of a business or manufacturer that deals with the specific product of apparel. A major retailer will have many departments or 'sectors' to distinguish one from another.
