Louis XVI was the king of France during the complex sociopolitical conflict that culminated in the French Revolution, but he was shy, dull, and corpulent and lacked the leadership skills necessary for the job. Rest in peace, poor Louis. I am not sure he deserved such harsh punishment. I would eagerly execute Erich Honecker, for example. He was more deserving it.
