(noun) A short stout club used primarily by policemen.

Synonyms: truncheon, billy, billy club, billystick, baton

Usage: The policeman ordered the loiterers to disperse, tapping his nightstick for effect.

By any means, should one consider it right to be a night club? As far as I am concerned, a nightstick would have quite a few different meanings around here. Just a pun.
