Hi everyone,

What is the subtle difference between a sentence and clause, please help with examples and explanations

Again I find hard time knowing the difference between a participial phrase and a gerund phrase phrase
Many thanks!

The difference is not so subtle.
A sentence makes sense without any addition. A clause may be just a part of a sentence.
The sentence "I have told you that I don't like it" is made up of the two clauses "I have told you" and "that I don't like it".
A sentence can consist of a single clause, even a single word, e.g. "Go!".
