It usually means to use whatever is available or to do whatever is possible, now, without going to the bother / time of obtaining the right tools / supplies, or setting up the usual way of doing things, or finding the right people.

It is a seat-of-the-pants, good-enough job.

I understood it to mean a game of tag where one person is it and chases others and tries to tag another so then they become it.

What is the 'toaster story'? Think I have read it often being mentioned but never understood! If someone is kind enough to explain, maybe I could enjoy the jokes too. Drool

Half seriously - a toaster with TFD or Freedelfia logo could be a really big hit in the market. Farlex people here: this idea is free to use! Whistle

Farlex always used to sound like a breakfast cereals brand to me at first Think ... I think a new toaster range from them would be a welcome venture Applause ...

ROFL... JJ thank you so much for the links. Reading first two pages of the second one made me ache with laughter( will read further after work).

PS: I was wondering JJ, if you redeem your points now, you could own the toaster factory!
